Exciting news! As part of our ongoing development to enable support for Reflect on multiple devices synced via iCloud, we will soon be opening up a Mac version of Reflect for beta testing via Apple's TestFlight platform. If you are interested in trying out the Mac version, please message us via our contact page and include your email address so we can send you an invite to our TestFlight group. Here are a few important notes if you want to become a beta tester:
The initial Mac version DOES NOT yet automatically sync with your iPhone or iPad Reflect version. However, if you have iCloud backups enabled on your iPhone or iPad, you will be able to copy over your data by restoring from a backup from the iOS device.
Any changes you make on the Mac side will NOT be synced back to your iOS device. We are still developing the automatic sync feature; and it is not included in the initial Mac beta. We discourage using the Mac as your primary recording device for data input for this reason.
We are still actively developing the Mac version, and seeking active feedback from you regarding the user interface and user experience. If you find any unexpected behavior, things that look wrong on Mac, crashes, performance issues, etc. we want you to let us know, so we can fix them! You can report these in the #mac-beta channel on our Discord, or via TestFlight.
By beta testing the Mac app via TestFlight, you may get access to Premium features of Reflect. When we finalize the Mac version and make it publicly available on the App Store, we will stop supporting the TestFlight version, and you will no longer be able to access these Premium features without paying for a Reflect Premium subscription.
The Mac version will open up for initial beta testing in the next week or two!
How is data handled? Backups are probably stored in CloudKit private DB, is sync going to be handled via CloudKit private DB too?
